The College Collections comprise rare books and manuscripts, art and artefacts, photographs, ethnographic objects and natural history specimens, ranging in date from prehistory to the present day. These collections are among Eton’s distinctive strengths. Their quality and scope are unique among schools. They play a role in the everyday life of the college and are used extensively in teaching.
We preserve and develop these outstanding collections while making them accessible to the local community and the wider world. Each year, we welcome thousands of visitors — schoolchildren, students, lovers of history and art, specialists and researchers — to the college’s museums and exhibition galleries, reading rooms and historic spaces. Through our online catalogue and digital resources, we aim to provide access to the Collections for the public worldwide.
